Saint Anastasia CYO

CYO Sports is one component of our parish's comprehensive youth ministry program which enables the partnership of parents, coaches, priests, religious, teachers, and adult leaders to manage and support a sports program that allows youth to grow in their relationship with God and come to better understand themselves and the Catholic Faith.

CYO registration is open to all parish children who are baptized Catholic and who have participated for the previous year either in the parish school or in our CCD program.

St. Anastasia's Meakim Honored for Work with Coaches vs. Cancer

By St. Annies CYO 03/17/2025, 6:00pm EDT

St. Anastasia's Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Kyle Meakim was honored by the Philadelphia Chapter of Coaches vs. Cancer with the 2025 Speedy Morris Service Award. The honor is bestowed annually to a volunteer who embodies the longtime Philadelphia coaching legend's commitment to Coaches vs. Cancer and the Philadelphia sports community.

Meakim’s involvement with the Coaches vs. Cancer School & Youth Initiative began in 2016 when he was the Varsity Boys Head Coach at St. Bernadette, where he coached for 16 years, and started the St. Bernadette vs. St. Dorothy Coaches vs Cancer Challenge. He also started the St. Anastasia vs St. Pius X Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge in 2022. These events have raised over $50,000 to help eradicate cancer by funding lifesaving research and improve the lives of those affected by this disease.

Meakim is also the Vice-President and Coach for 3 Leaf Basketball, a high school basketball exchange program between Philadelphia and Ireland.
